Our goal is to strengthen the integrity of the federal contracting ecosystem by helping contractors build disciplined and compliant acquisition systems. GovCon Advisory Group was built around that principle.
Our mission is to help government contractors build compliant, defensible, and scalable contracting and purchasing systems that withstand audit scrutiny, reduce risk, and enable sustainable growth in the federal contracting marketplace. This provides our customers the absolute best chance at audit success.
Through battle-tested systems, straight talk, and 40 years of experience, we transform compliance from your biggest risk into your competitive advantage. We can’t guarantee what your auditors will do — but we can guarantee you’ll be more prepared than 95% of your competition.

Our work is organized around three core practice areas that support the integrity and effectiveness of contractor acquisition operations: Consulting, Compliance, and Training.
Through our Consulting services, we help organizations design and strengthen procurement and contracting systems, develop policies and procedures, and provide experienced advisory guidance on complex contractual and subcontracting matters that arise during contract performance.
Our Compliance services focus on evaluating procurement practices, purchasing systems, and subcontracting oversight processes to identify regulatory risks and operational weaknesses that could lead to audit findings or increased government scrutiny.
Through Training, we support the professional development of the acquisition workforce by providing practical instruction, educational resources, and structured learning programs designed to improve procurement discipline, regulatory understanding, and sound contractual decision-making.
Together, these three pillars allow GovCon Advisory Group to support contractors not only in building compliant systems, but also in strengthening the people and practices responsible for executing disciplined acquisition operations.

GovCon Advisory Group believes that most procurement compliance problems do not originate from a lack of effort or professionalism within the acquisition workforce. In many cases, they arise because contracting and procurement systems have not been designed to consistently produce clear, well-documented, and defensible acquisition decisions.
Policies may exist, procedures may be documented, and personnel may be experienced, yet if these elements are not properly aligned, procurement files often fail to tell a complete and logical acquisition story. When documentation, decision logic, and system processes operate independently rather than as part of a structured framework, organizations become vulnerable to audit findings and increased regulatory scrutiny.
Our work focuses on helping contractors address these challenges by strengthening the systems that support disciplined acquisition practices. By aligning policies, procedures, documentation practices, and decision logic within a cohesive operational structure, organizations are better equipped to produce procurement records that withstand review and support responsible contracting practices.
Through this approach, GovCon Advisory Group helps contractors transform procurement compliance from a reactive regulatory obligation into a structured operational capability that supports accountability, transparency, and long-term success in the federal contracting marketplace.

The GovCon Compliance System™
GovCon Advisory Group delivers its services through a structured methodology known as the GovCon Compliance System™. This framework aligns five critical elements of procurement integrity:
• Policies
• Procedures
• Documentation
• Decision Logic
• System Alignment

GovCon Advisory Group provides contract administration advisory services, CPSR readiness support and targeted training for government contractors. Our primary focus is helping organizations with complex contract administration issues, and identification and correction of compliance gaps, strengthen purchasing systems, and prepare for multiple types of audit scrutiny.
We work with small, mid-size, and large government contractors. Our services are tailored to the maturity, size, and specific needs of each organization.
GovCon Advisory Group is led by a former Senior Contracts & Procurement Executive with real-world experience managing compliance, purchasing systems, and audit readiness. Our approach is practical, structured, and focused on execution—not theory.
Yes, we can provide advisory support during a CPSR review. However, most clients engage us prior to the audit to identify and correct issues in advance, which significantly reduces risk.
Most engagements range from a few weeks to several months depending on the size of your organization, the condition of your current system, and the level of support required.
Small business compliance is a key evaluation area during CPSR reviews. Weaknesses in this area often result in findings related to subcontracting and documentation.
Our CPSR readiness services include structured assessments, mock CPSR reviews, file and documentation analysis, policy evaluation, and corrective action planning. The goal is to ensure your purchasing system is compliant, consistent, and defensible prior to review.
A compliant program ensures that subcontracting decisions, reporting, and goal tracking are documented, consistent, and aligned with agency stipulations and FAR and DFARS requirements.
Yes. Compliance is based on documentation and process—not just outcomes. Even companies meeting goals can fail audits due to lack of supporting documentation.
If your organization is experiencing growth, increasing contract volume, or preparing for a CPSR, it is important to assess your purchasing system. Common indicators include inconsistent documentation, unclear procedures, or uncertainty around compliance requirements.
Yes. We routinely assess and remediate existing programs, aligning them with regulatory requirements and audit expectations.
Engagements vary based on scope, complexity, and level of support required. Most CPSR readiness engagements range from targeted assessments to comprehensive programs designed to fully prepare your organization for audit.
We begin with a brief assessment to understand your needs and provide a tailored recommendation.
The process begins with a short consultation to understand your current environment and identify potential risk areas. From there, we recommend an approach tailored to your organization. Email us at Tim@GovConAdvisoryGroup.com to schedule a Compliance Assessment.
