Our services are organized into three core practice areas:
Consulting • Compliance • Training
Our consulting services focus on designing and strengthening subcontracting and contracting systems that support disciplined acquisition practices and sustainable regulatory compliance.
Each engagement is designed to help organizations build stronger contracting systems and reduce regulatory risk.

Managing government contracts requires specialized expertise in regulatory interpretation, acquisition strategy, subcontract management, and compliance oversight.
GovCon Advisory Group provides experienced advisory support to help organizations manage government contracting requirements, address regulatory challenges, and strengthen acquisition decision-making. Our services assist contractors in navigating regulatory obligations and contract performance challenges while maintaining disciplined and compliant acquisition practices.

We help contractors establish a clear performance baseline, preserve pricing and proposal assumptions, evaluate customer direction, control out-of-scope work, and document potential changes before margin is lost.
The work may include start-work controls, change logs, escalation rules, contract modification review, and practical coordination among contracts, program management, finance, and subcontracting.

Strong procurement systems require more than policies. They require structured alignment between policies, procedures, documentation practices, and acquisition decision-making.
GovCon Advisory Group helps contractors design subcontracting and purchasing systems that align with federal acquisition requirements and industry best practices.
Services include:

Government contractors operating under subcontracting plan requirements must implement structured small business participation programs.
GovCon Advisory Group supports organizations in designing and implementing effective small business subcontracting programs that meet regulatory requirements while strengthening supplier diversity initiatives. Our approach helps organizations establish structured oversight processes that ensure accurate reporting, responsible subcontracting practices, and alignment with federal small business program objectives.

Clear, well-structured policies and procedures provide the foundation for effective procurement systems.
GovCon Advisory Group helps organizations develop FAR and DFARS compliant contracting and purchasing policy frameworks that guide procurement decisions and support audit readiness.

GovCon Advisory Group provides consulting support in two practical ways. For a defined issue or improvement effort, we establish the scope, priorities, and expected work in a project engagement. When a contractor needs continuing access to senior contracting experience, Monthly Advisory Support reserves a defined amount of consulting capacity for matters that arise during the month.
Monthly clients work directly with Tim Magnusson, CPCM. We establish initial priorities together, then adjust assignments as business needs change within the agreed scope and capacity. Support may involve contract and subcontract questions, document review and negotiation, fixed-price execution issues, customer direction, internal processes, or management decisions. The level of involvement is matched to the volume and complexity of the work.
We begin with a conversation about your current needs and recommend the engagement structure that fits them.
